Driving Sustainability: Meet our EV Drivers

In the aftermath of the COP26 climate conference – and amid the ongoing climate crisis – many of us are asking what we can do to alleviate the effects of climate change. Conscious efforts have been made when it comes to factors such as recycling, reducing meat consumption and purchasing sustainable products. However, the use of cars remains a major issue for our collective carbon footprint. Reports suggest that petrol is predicted to run out by 2060 if we keep burning fossil fuels at our current rate. Therefore, the sooner we explore greener options, the better! The introduction of electric vehicles offers a new way to rack up the miles, whilst reducing carbon emissions.

Sustainability has always been important to us as we aim to play a role in saving the planet. Therefore, we are proud to offer an electric vehicle (EV) initiative for colleagues – one of the many steps we are taking towards safeguarding our future. Our dedicated Sustainable Business taskforce is always exploring new ways for us to be kinder to the Earth. However, with business travel a daily occurrence for many of our colleagues, a fleet of EV’s seemed like a good place to start!

This month, we’re putting the spotlight on our electric vehicle drivers and getting to grips with why they made the switch to electric. Despite cost savings being a tempting incentive, it’s clear that for many of our team they simply want to do their part for the environment; particularly our colleagues with families, who are aware of the future implications for their children.

Most of our Territory Managers are on the move daily, visiting outlets across the country. EV’s offer an efficient way to operate, with the ability to charge at home or in allocated charging bays. It’s not just the drive that's smooth, as EV apps can pinpoint free charging dock locations - making the process seamless.

Throughout November, meet our electric vehicle drivers and get an insight into what they love most about their EV experience. We’ll share their thoughts on why they chose this type of vehicle, key benefits to them and the advice they’d give to anyone considering it themselves.

Follow the campaign on our LinkedIn page to find out more and discover how we’re driving change when it comes to sustainability!
